I'm looking to trade a 1978 KTM 400 MC5 for something along the lines of a Yamaha PW 50 or Suzuki JR 50.  The KTM doesn't run but is mostly there (the gas tank and seat are not original), but on the plus side, there are no broken fins on the engine, no dings on the frame rails, and the swing arm pivot bolt can actually be removed.

I'd like a decent PW 50 or JR 50 or other bike that my 6 and 7 year olds can ride, in good running condition.

I'd like to avoid shipping and all of the headaches and cost that go along with that, but could possibly meet at Mid-Ohio.

Please let me know what you have, and maybe we can make a deal.

Nick,

Is it possible to get some pictures of the 400.  My e-mail is [email protected]

Nick,
I would like to see some pics also. If you are unable to post them here on the site, you can also send some to me at [email protected]    Is the engine locked up? Does it have spark and compression? If you could provide some additional info on the overall condition of the bike, that would be helpful also.
                               Thanks,

I'll try to get pictures in the next few days.  When I bought the bike and took the head and cylinder off, I found out that it had a broken piston.  I think that some of the pieces are wedged between the cases and crank halves because the crank won't turn (so I can't check the compression or for spark).  So, the engine will need to be gone through, and it will probably need the usual things like wheel bearings, brake shoes, new grips, etc.
