Surprised to see Ted at Colorado 500

Last night a friend brought over his pictures from the Colorado 500 and was bragging on this "older" gentleman who rode it on a Penton!!!  Lo and behold, I feel certain that the picture was of Ted Del Solar!  Unbelievable!!!  What a guy!

Of course it sparked a bunch of John Penton stories - like the time he challenged my friend (on a Bultaco) to a speed race against one of the first Pentons he brought to the Enduro circuit (he couldn't remember which of the boys John put on the Penton)...... and another time when my friend snuck around John right before the finish at Stone Mountain...... John was not happy..... my friend sayed he always enjoyed play tricks on John so I guess there are more stories to be heard...
