-Been a long time lurker onthis site.  Thought I'd post a pic of my 1976 400 GS

Been wanting to post pics here for years.  The 400 has less than 500 original miles and has a lead tag safety wired from the jug to the frame.  The tag reads "Jack Pine Run"   Anyone have any specific details of what this tag signifies?

Wow, what a nice clean bike - congrats! It obviously has very few miles - the non-folding shift lever is still intact!

Have you had it for years - or is it a wonderful find?

I never rode the Jackpine, but 2 day Qualifiers (& the ISDT) used tags like you described at tech inspection to ensure that certain parts were not changed.

Thanks for the compliments.  I've owned the 400 for about 15 years.  Had a nice collection of Pentons but this one is special to me.   I'll try to get a shot of the speedo mount tonight.
