Here is the list I compiled:


(1) Friends come and go, but enemies accumulate.
(2) When a broken appliance is demonstrated for the repairman, it will work perfectly.
(3) The repairman will never have seen a model quite like yours before.
(4) If you try to please everybody, nobody will like it.
(5) You will remember that you forgot to take out the trash when the garbage truck is two blocks away.  
(6) If it jams - force it.  If it breaks - it needed replacing anyway.
(7) Everyone has a scheme for getting rich that will not work.
( You will always find something in the last place you look.
(9) The other line always moves faster.
(10) Build a system that even a fool can use, and only a fool will use it.
(11) No matter how long and hard you shop for an item, after you've bought it, it will be on sale somewhere else, cheaper.
(12) Any tool dropped while repairing a car will roll underneath to the exact center.
(13) Nothing is as easy as it looks.
(14) Everything takes longer than you think.
(15) If there is a possibility of something going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong.  Corollary:  if there is a worse time for something to go wrong, it will happen then.
(16) All warranties expire upon payment of invoice.
(17) It is impossible to make anyting foolproof, because fools are so ingenious.
(18) Whenever you set out do do something, womthing else must be done first.
(19) Every solution breeds new problems.
(20) There is always one more bug.
(21) If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway.
(22) Anything good in life is either illegal, immoral, or fattening.
(23) If more than one person is responsible for a miscalculation, no one will be at fault.
(24) Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes to the bone.
(25) In case of doubt, make it sound convincing.
(26) If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which a procedure can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, with develop.
(27) Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
(28) If everything seems to be going well, you obviously have overlooked something.
(29) Mother nature is a bitch.
(30) A bird in the hand is better than one overhead.
(31) Never play leapfrog with a unicorn.
(32) There is never time to do it right, but there is always time to do it over.
(33) Smile . . . Tomorrow will be worse.
(34) Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
Interchangeable parts - won't
(35) Leakproof seals - will.  Self Starters - won't.
(36) A short cut is the longest distance between two poins.
(37) In order to get a loan you must first prove that you don't need it.
(38) The chance of a piece of bread falling with the buttered side down is directly proportional to the price of the carpet.
(39) If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
(40) The minute you become interested in someone is the moment they find someone else.
(41) Anything you try to fix will cost more and take longer than you thought.
(42) If you fool around with a thing for very long, you will screw it up.

Here's a Murphys Law bit that happened to me this morning that involves going to the dentist to have one procedure performed and the doc finds something else that needs attention.   Went to dentist to have first root canal done and crown placed on cracked tooth that had filling from the 1970s.  While dentist is doing his thing on that tooth, he notices decay around the base of the gold crown on the tooth immediately behind the one he is working on. Crown might have been one the Army put on years ago. Crown has small hole in top from lower tooth hitting it, food got in, decay started, etc. Add another crown and prep. to bill.     Total bill is over $2000.00....   Money I had budgeted for dual purpose ride at Big Bend National Park later this month is going for dental work...

The positive part is the dentist found the new decay before that tooth needed a root canal and I realized that a crown isnt necessarily permanent.

I found that the money that you are waiting for comes in the day after the bike was sold or the event you wanted to go to has passed.

The clutch goes out in the truck 2 hours before you leave for that big weekend with friends... In this case, it was the throw out bearing that collapsed. It was the strangest thing ever but it was enough to keep me from going.

You forgot an important one.  Drop the wrench, pick up the wrench, drop the bolt, pick up the bolt, drop the part, pick up the part drop the wrench, pickup...
 All these Laws point to one thing. close up the shop  and
