Drain Bolt help

Hi guys--went through the 74 Hare Scrambler last night in prep for an easy ride tomorrow. Took a short spin around the house. On loading today, I notice that the left case level check plug(below the kicker) fell out. (I hadn't touched it since Oct and hope is isn't stripped). I wanted to change the oil anyway now I'm forced to do so. Question:  I can cannibalize a bolt from another ktm engine--this is a 77 engine. Are they interchangeable or better yet can I simply buy a common bolt? If so on the latter, what size/pitch? Many thanks. I'm not near my spares so I can't check for myself and this way I could stop somewhere between work and my spares location. Best, John

couple things; all of the silver motors until 79 are the same so if you have one of those, you should be able to swap one out. I never use that screw for anything. I measure out the oil and slowly put it into the transmission. The holes between the center cases and the clutch cover is  so small you could end up not putting enough oil to properly lube the transmission. So I alway measure.. and last, If you need to take the clutch cover off with out draining the oil, lay the bike on its right side and remove the kickstarter and shifter and then remove the case.. also, changing your oil on a regular basis is a really good idea..

Thank you Nelson. Thank you Thom. I have cannibalized a check screw/bolt from a spare KTM engine (now on its side). All will be well.
