Snow and cold got ya' down...Well take a little break and go back in time -- when men were men and Huskies were built in Sweden. Now, I hope this is not considered blasphemy here and that I won't be banned from POG!:D;)....I thought this would be a great way to get motivated for the upcoming season -- And the tunes aren't too bad either.

Those were pretty neat.  I noticed 39 seconds into the 3rd video J-O Korell on a SAMS Monark.  I swear it was a 6-day painted in Monark Blue Frame Yellow Body work.  I did notice the front hub different though.  I wonder how of those are around and what is it?

No handguards, no camelbacks, no grip warmers, no goretex, no full-face helmets -- and all that beautiful swedish countryside (mud and sluice!)...Not sayin' it was better, but they all sure look like they're having a great time!:D

I especially like the last link (korsberger, dirtyriders) when the fella on the Monark is just aboslutely rippin' through the woods.

Mike,

I'd never seen a Monark action in my entire life, so to catch one film was really cool.  You definitely have one of the best vintage ISDT collection of bikes I've personally ever seen -- And again YOUR Monark proves it. Thanks for the pics!

Oh, man!  We've come a loooooong way with suspension improvements.  Watching those guys in action makes me feel better about my ISDT RR performance.

I'm telling you guys look at the 3rd video clip.  39 seconds into it is a bike that looks just like a 6-day except it is in Monark colors.  The only other difference is the front hub.  Is it a Monark, Penton, Ktm or what??

I see what you mean -- I did a freeze frame and that definitely had the paint scheme, but it doesn't have the body of a Monark -- good pick up.

I would like to know the story behind that bike

Great shots. I really like the Monark shots. I need to ride mine at the next ISDTRR.

Bryce Sills

That was great!  The guy in the last video was really movin' through the trees!

G-MAN,

go to the VintageMonark site,
left colum you will see Sewdish registery,
go to 74 or 75 bikes and you will see them,
click on the vin #'s that are highlighted and it will show bike pics,
75 was the last year for the Monarks {dam shame !!!}
tank looks similar the the Penton in # 3 movie clip but when you see the still shots you can see the difference !!
hope this helps,
