I am sorry to keep hogging up the site, but I need some help once again. How in the world do I get the air box boot to go on the air fiberglass air box. I have been heating it up and then trying to get it on. We get it most the way on, but when we try to turn it a bit, or put the clamp on it slides off. My wife has been helping me try to put it on--tempers are starting to flare. Is there a trick?

Thanks,
Michael

I have old boots that have 30% shrinkage over the years, if its a new one install with your arm in the air box and fit the carb side first then from the inside the air box do the air box lip. Some are not cut correctly so turn to fit.(old no go.)

Sounds like it's a new boot. I had the same problem.Fought with it seems like forever.I ended up spraying the lip area with a silicone spray to help things slide easier. That way when you start tightening the clamp things wont bind up as easy. Hope that helps

Put it in boiling water, it will soften it up . Then you can slip it on. Later Gary
