Same problem as all of the POV video cameras, only 2.5 hours of battery life.  Amazing no one has a "remote" battery pack were you can carry a larger battery.  Many other helmet cameras do same image quality in much smaller hardware, but again battery life is problem.

I own one and love it!  Filmed the "09" ISDTRR and had about 3 hours viewing with plenty of battery left.  Easy to use and great photos/video!  I simply carry an extra battery set and a few extra 2G video cards, what a blast![]

Used a GOPRO HD camera for our Wrightwood to Vegas ride.  They make two versions -- one is HD and one is not.  Both shoot fine but the HD quality is amazing and it can capture super slow motion.  However you are looking at a 32G card or cards.  The battery issue is not too bad if you plan and I also carry a spare.  GOPRO has in the works (maybe launched) a spare battery "bakpak" that clips up to the frame.

Oh yeah it also takes auto photos (great quality) every 2,4,6,60 seconds (or thereabouts).

Biggest issue is making sure you are ok with a helmet mount since any other mounting point is not going to work that well on a bike (maybe a chest mount would).  The bar mount is way too shaky and your head just doesn't move that much.  

Worst part of the camera is aiming it without a view finder and it really hard to know if you have turned it on/off when it is on your helmet.  It is a two man job.

So where on the helmet do you have it mounted?  On the top, on the side, or under the visor?  I would think the top mounted would get a lot of abuse from low hanging branches.....

James you are quite right.  I used the helmet top mount only in the desert so if I was low enough to hit branches I would have other more serious problems!  Brian Kirby is the expert at mounting for woods and he uses a different camera that is very small and mounts under the visor.  The rub is that he has to carry the rest of the works in a backpack or elsewhere.  You can mount the GOPRO on the side of the helmet but I don't like that angle so much.  You can also wear a chestmount, which will put the viewer of the video more "in the action" except when you are so low in the seat that the bars will foul the picture.

Oh yeah, GOPRO announced via email yesterday or the day before that they now have an LCD viewfinder/display that connects.  I'm sure it isn't cheap but would solve one of the major problems.

Last thing -- it works great for skiing too.
