Bing Carb Question

When I picked up my 75 250 Penton basket case, the carb it had with it was 2/36/102 (did not have the bowl, slide, or top. I thought no problem, I have an extra bing carb (54/36/108). Of course, there is a problem in that my carb is too big and will not attach to the manifold. Plus, the slide is too big. My questions are:

1) Are the float bowls and floats interchangable? The appear to be, but I would like to make sure.

2) Can anyone tell me if the white plastic part in the carb and the spring are interchangable?

3) Can anyone tell me what size slide I need to order?

4) Is there anything else of which I should be aware?

I am suppose to call Bing back in about an hour to talk to the tech. However, any information you can give me before hand would be greatly appreciated.

Stick with the 2/36/102
I would have to see the parts but if the bowls are identical, yes they will interchange.  Spring and needle retainer will work, talk to Charlie about slide but I would look around on Evilbay for a slide unless you have deep pockets.  Charlie is a fantastic help and source of info.  Just give him the original carb numbers and he can cross reference the info!  CIAO

Deep pockets is right. $125 for a slide--ouch! I am going to call the guy I got the bike from. Thanks for the response.

Mike,
I have come to believe that a bing is a good carb and I use them on both of my Maico's but on my 76 250 ktm I am running a mikuni on it and I am really impressed with how well it works, much better than the stock bing. by the way I put a mikuni on a 440 maico and I was not impressed, so I think it has as much to do with the bike as it does the carb.. So if you can not find what you are looking for in a bing, you might consider a mikuni, Fyi I ended up modifying the intake manifold and I used a bored out 34 to help with fit restrictions..
