I stopped at Wheelsports KTM in Columbus, Ohio this week to check out the shop.  I purchased a used KTM 990 Adventure this winter and have been picking up some extra parts and wanted to see the shop.  The owner Wally Wilson started talking about bikes and the subject came up about Penton bikes and Wally said he a few out back.  He gave me a tour  and had some very nice old stuff.  He raced a Husky in the 6 days for a few years in the early 80's so first we looked over his Husky bikes. A 400 and 250 in great shape, a nice Ossa 250, 2 Yankee's, a Penton 400 and a 175.  Then he showed me a 1974 Jackpiner that he just found.
It had been in a barn sitting since 1974 and still had an old Oh plate.  It was in great shape and far as rust or damage, but did not run.  Still had the leather tool bag with tools, a neat folding rear view mirror, front and back lights, speedo, complete exhaust with tip and the tires had very little wear.  Forgot to check the mileage!
Wally said he knows Jack and John for years but not a member of POG and is very busy running the shop 6 days a week.  So if you are in the market for a new KTM or need parts check out Wheelsports!
They are the largest stocking KTM dealer in Ohio.

Congrats for picking up the 990. I have a 950 with a ton of extras. I also had the pipes ceramic coated inside & out. It really cut back on the heat and maybe made a bit more hp.

Never been to wheelsports. Where are they at in relationship to Ironpony or Barley's Smokehouse?

It was a 20 minute drive between Wheelsports and Iron Pony.  They are east of the 270 loop on main st Reynoldsburg.  THey have one of the largest displays the KTM's in Ohio.

I really love the 2007 990 adventure.  I have added the most of the typical mods including a 2 into 1 conversion with a FMF slip on from HT racing.  Still getting the bugs worked out but it a very fast and smooth riding bike.

I'll have to check it out next time going to the Pony.

I have the driving lights on mine along with the Euro headlight, which made a pretty good differe3nce over the stock one. Comfort seat, center stand, Akropovics, Luggage (the hepco & Baker gray ones), tank bag, powerlets, a lock for the glove compartment, etc. Made one of the saddle bags into a cooler with drain (Took the plugs out, shoved some expanding foam in it) It's fair , but can hold 8 bomber bottles & at least a six pack.

Cheers
