The bike is finished and I have been riding a couple of times. It's not that hysterical at all as I was afraid it would be. It has great torque and basically, a pretty nice and common powerband. I'm happy with the bike. It has good brakes, suspension, ergonomics and a sweet engine. The only thing is that It's hard to jump, I tend to land on the rear, or front wheel. I'm used to the maico that jumps itself without rider input.

Either way, this is my racer for this summer. One could be worse off or?

dirtbike,
We restored a 79 400 GS in 1991. We added a little better front brake and used it for 2 years as my trail bike.
I think you have a great 400 for the woods. Ours was easy to start ,handled well, had controllable power everywhere and all the travel I could use in the dirt.

Hope you like yours as much as we liked ours.
