Action Sports Vintage Cross Country National rescheduled:    chi jer
------------------------------------------------------------------

We regret to announce that the Action Sports Vintage Cross Country National, sanctioned by AHRMA, originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday May 28th and 29th has been rescheduled for Friday June 17th, the day prior to the Action Sports Vintage Motocross National scheduled for June 18th and 19th.

The never ending rain this spring has made it impossible to repair and prepare the track for the upcoming event, and the Weather Channel predicts rain seven of the next ten days.  The ground is saturated and we just can't get any track work done.   The culverts need to be replaced that have washed out in our lower lying areas which tie the entire race course together.  We have already had to cancel two events due to rain this spring.  We feel we need to make the announcement now as opposed to waiting until the week of the race.  All we can do is base our decision on the current condition of the facility and the forecast and hope the rain subsides before our June event.

On a positive note we will have a catered dinner Friday night for the riders and their families after the conclusion of the Cross Country National; a dinner Saturday night is already planned.  To allow more travel time on Friday we will start Vintage racing at 1:00 PM followed by the Post vintage classes.  We will hold a corn hole tournament after dinner Friday and Saturday night as well.  Camping is free throughout the weekend.  Admission is $15.00 per day or $30.00 for the weekend.

We will also have a large area for sponsor displays, vendors and a swap meet.  Please pass the word to anyone that might be interested in sponsoring, vending or displaying their items in a swap meet.  Have them contact [email protected]

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this change may cause but hopefully it will make the Cross Country more fun and the entire weekend a bigger, better event.

The AHRMA National office will be sending a letter to all riders who have pre-entered for the 2 day Cross Country to determine how each rider wants to have their pre-entry handled.  This letter will be mailed on Wednesday the 18th of May.

Thanks CJ.  I really hope I can make this.  It's a bit of a haul for me, but....

I guess we all go to Lake Sugar Tree now.
