You mean statically it is fine? Because if you think the slide is being held open by vacuum, in my mind that is mechanical and not caused by an air leak.
Hitting the kill on a 2 stroke makes it immediately rich and would bring down airleak initiated rev sticking. Also a compression release would also relieve pressures and bring it down.
If it were a slide sticking the kill would not bring it down because crankcase pressures actually have a bit more vacuum because of the loss of the pressure wave of a firing cyl running back down the transfer ports.
So this is sounding more like an air leak all the time.
