Lectron float level

I raced my GS6 175 for the first time at VMD this year.  I had issues with it loading up, & suspect float level.

This was Gary E's bike and I do not believe it had this issue until I put on the new ethanol proof float bowl and independent floats.  It would do the blubbering thing with the throttle wide open once it got loaded up or stopped abruptly.  I had to turn off the fuel, lean the bike over several times to empty the float bowl (and carb?) and then get it running. Very tiring after the 10th time on the first lap ... I learned to keep it more or less pinned and use the clutch constantly ... which my whimpy, hydraulic and  Recluse clutch trained left arm was not used to!

With the odd angle of the Lectron carb on the 175 where do you judge the fuel level?   My fuel level is clear up to the top of the bowl/bottom of carb on the front side and about half way, maybe a little higher  on the back side.

Any other ideas if the float level seems correct.

I haven't fooled with a Lectron in 30 years, but if memory serves me correct they were very similar to a Mikuni or Bing in setup, which was to set it off the bike with the floats level or square to the bowl when the arm first contacts the float needle.

Of course the steeper angle that the carb mounts on would require changing the setting to allow the bowl to hold less fuel, so that when mounted fuel isn't just pouring out of the bowl into the cylinder.

I guess if the angle got steep enough and you continued to lower the fuel level in the bowl you could end up with the opposite problem  - the bike getting too lean when wide open on the main jet (so to speak for a lectron).

You may have to play with it to get the "right" float level for your bike, as opposed to the standard "bench" setting.
