Speedo overhaul ?

Are the speedos that came on Pentons rebuildable? or are they a throw away item?

VDO speedometers are indeed rebuildable. There is an agency in California that does minor repairs, or entire rebuilds . I don't remember the name offhand, but you can google them.

I haven't used them yet, but did call & speak with them - they seemed to be very nice and on top of things. Their major specialty is speedos for old sports cars, but they were more than happy to talk about bike work.

The outfit that repairs them is North Hollywood Speedometer http://www.nhspeedometer.com/ I have dealt with them in the past and was very satisfied with the service I recieved.
