After mounting new tires, what will clean the sticky mold release/preservative off the rubber and give them a nice shine?

Kip Kern

I learned this from Forest Stahl.  Prior to mounting tires, glas bead blast them then wash with warm water and soap.  Rinse and blow dry with compressed air then Armor All them and wipe off excess.  They look fantastic and brand new.

I tried the following to remove the white stuff that I guess is mold release/preservative: Wesley's tire cleaner, soap and water, brake cleaner on a rag, isopropyl alcohol, acetone, all using a toothbrush.  It will look like it is coming clean with all of the above, but when it dries, no such luck.  I think Kip's idea sounds like it is the ticket, except the tires are already mounted.  May pull the tires back off and start over, except this time use the Pirellis instead of the Cheng-Shins.
