Were the triple clamps originally painted on the mc5 and if they were what color were they, same as frame or motor or something different

Hi Maurice;
   The triple clamps on my '77 400MC5 are natural aluminum or natural metal, same with the fork legs. I just had the chance today to open up the shed and check. My bike is all original, unrestored or molested, even still have the fork leg protectors on the fork legs. Maybe they were clear coated originally?

Hey Maurice;
    I got my '77 MC-5 all the way out of the shed today and checked the forks out closely. The triple clamps WERE painted, along with the fork legs. The triples looked like silver paint that matched the frame. The fork legs had almost all the paint worn or oxidized off, but they may have been painted silver also. The paint may look different with age due to a reaction with the magnesium material they are made of. I think the triples are aluminum.
   Hope this doesn't mess you up! I was having to look at them from behind the bike and at a distance in poor light the first time.
   Type at you later,
