Production changes

Back in the day I had a 74 Six Days. It had trim strips on the seat, bars with no cross brace, and pipe with two small outlets. The 74 I have now has no strips, the early exhaust and bars with cross brace. Were changes made by the year or running when parts of one style ran out? Did the later exhaust outlet go with the 6b motor only?
