I just had the most interesting experience at a salvage yard in Rye Arizona. I stopped in to see if this guy had any Penton or KTM bikes and if I could look at them. Now this guy has hundreds of old motor cycles just spread  out(stacked next to each other) all over about 2 acres of land with no organization to it. I was not aloud to touch anything or move one bike to see another. He did have a few KTM's that look as though they might be worth a second look. I need to verify as to what I'm looking at. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of these.
#1 Motor 9-560692
1979 420
#2 Motor 4-5206985
1974 175cc
#1 Frame 8 55 09704
1978 400cc

Frame #2 010 21648
with this motor
541.30.004.000
I'm thinking this is a 1980 250 GS/RV but I really cant make out the first digit. I can send you a photo of the frame with the code if needed on this one. Someone painted it purple so don't
be shocked when you see it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- Type 560 is a 420cc engine.

- #2 motor 4-52 is a 1974 175cc

- #1 frame 855 is a 1978 KTM frame
If it was a '78 400cc engine the engine numbers would start 8-55

- type 541 engine is a 1981 250cc engine (and not positive if it could'nt be a 1980 engine as well)

Thanks for the confirmation. Now let's see if I can get this wacko to make a deal.
