MC5 exhaust flange

I have a couple of MC5's, a 400 and a 250. The 250 has an angled exhaust flange and the 400 is straight. was there a reason for the angle change on the different motor sizes? Can I run the angled flange on a 400?

Obviously you have to have the manifold matched up to the pipe you are using, but I have seen both styles, it just depended what was available at the time I think. Mike
