Checking to see what is the recommended 2 cycle oil to mix for 40 year old Penton? In the day when I was running a 400 husqvarna wr with a 175 jack piner on my heals we used a product called Analube. With a ratio of 50:1.
Now I own the 1975 Penton 175 JP and want to do a ground up restoration and could use some help and advice.

I run Golden Spectro @ 32:1 in all my 2 strokes. That's a little more oil than some people prefer, but its anti-rust protection during the Winter months is very good. Mike

still use yamalube at 32:1

Maxima 50:1 everyone has their preferences.  I've used Golden Spectro, Hi-Point, Yamalube, Klotz, all worked well and it seems I buy what's local and easy to get.  Sorry to confuse you more,

As this has come up many times you might search this topic.  you will see you will get about as many different answers as people that answer.  Personally I would agree with Mickey and Mike on Yamalube and Golden Spectro.  They both protect well but Yamalube burns a little cleaner.

Have used all of the above plus several more like Belray ,union Carbide ,Kendal but in my Penton I use Golden Spectro same as Hi Point I think and is jetted for the mix . I think this was recommended by Penton .

I also run Golden Spectro. Mixed with AV Gas 100LL. Remember! Ethanol fuel with EAT your fiberglass tanks!  Always run AVgas or race fuel
