Anyone have a rear fender loop that I could use to mount on my MC5 frame?  I am looking to put a larger fender on the bike, and need more support to hold it up.

Roberto Petinato (ParmaBike) has one listed on eBay for $49 plus shipping and offers 10% discount for POG members to order directly. Back in the day Hi-Point offered one with square nuts welded to it to mount it to the rear frame on MC5's. You could weld your own mounting nuts on this part to make it work for you. Mike

I have a '77 400m MC5 that had a Petty IT rear fender on it when I got it and it just wasn't mounted correctly. I got one of the rear loops that Mike is suggesting and added it to my bike. I could have tried to buy the tubing and made my own for a little less money, but who knows how many tries it would take to get it correct! Roberto's piece fit perfectly. I figured out a way to bolt it on, which will allow any future owner to put it back in full MC5 trim for MX. I wanted it to look more like a GS. I can't quite describe how I did it, but I might have some pictures that I can email Mike and he can post them here. It kind of plugs into the existing frame tube, and I have a bolt on each side locking it in. It's pretty solid and you can pick up the rear of the bike with it. I'll get to looking for some photos.
   Type at you later,

Thanks Dan!  I would appreciate that.

Thanks Mike. I saw that wasn't sure if it would work on the MC frame...  Just ordered it.

Unfortunately the pics didn't show any mounting nuts or specific close-up views showing the attachment points. Dan will send me pics with the seat off in a few days. If I find my Hi-Point catalog, I'll see if I can get a pic of the one offered. Mike
