I had purchased a NOS 77 MC5 175 pipe from Tom Brosious for the swap, which required the modification. I imagine a 250 pipe might require more grinding. I'm not sure why a 250 pipe would be preferable, and you will have to remove the 175 pipe mid mount on the chassis near the RH shock mount to get a 250 pipe to fit through the frame if you have an actual 125/175 frame. Mike Gallagher is the proud owner of the KRP now. Mike

Same to you Bob, thanks!  Yes, it has been enjoyable...  So far, just one night under 32 degrees.... not hard to take! What are you doing with the Lectron?  If you are planning on selling it I am interested.  Not sure about the White Lightning yet. Do you know Dan Gavin; (PE rider) he and I made that trip a few times.  Maybe touch base with him on sharing the ride down...

Happy New Year, James - miss ya up here in the Northeast, hope those cockroaches aren't TOO big down there in Florida.  And hope you are enjoying your next life chapter.  Good luck with your project sounds like fun!

You'll be happy (and not surprised?) to know I'm going to put a lightly ported Jackpiner top end (7 fin if you will) on my MC5 175 and set aside the 6 fin.   Haven't decided about carb, but leaning towards Bing if we can get it set up right.  I deserve some of the blame, but also really struggled with my Lectron set-up.

Let me know if you're gonna race White Lightning.  Might make the drive if I and drag some others along to keep me awake on the road.

Thanks Kevin.  I am going to try the 3M remover first.  If that doesn't work I will look into the SEM.

James,

Try SEM Solve.  It's available at most any auto paint store.  It wont take them off in seconds, but if you soak a rag with a little and keep gently wiping the decals they come off.

Thanks,

Kevin

So, as a follow up to my progress...  I got a can of the 3M Adhesive Remover and finally spent some time on the tank. I highly recommend this product!  It took some work, but it did take the glue off.
