From my research the Wossner pistons AL Buehner has would work in 76-82 ktm engines as well as all Sachs cylinders, with a little skirt shortening. 2mm for Sachs (or 4 if going with GS porting), and 4 mm for 76-79 ktm. This is IF having a boost port slot in the piston is OK with a cylinder without a boost port, such as the stock Sachs. I cant see why the piston slot would matter if there is no boost port.  Opinions please.  Would make stocking pistons for all three bikes less expensive since I have all three (Sachs, 76 KTM and 80 KTM). Wossner Skirt widths, Ring Pin locations, Rod Pin location and Transfer cut outs all would work fine in all three as far as I can see.

If anyone is in need I have several sizes of the Original Sachs Mahle Forged pistons I would sell.  These are Originals for the alloy cylinder.
