In case everyone hasn't heard, the AHRMA races at Barber are still on, despite the Annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival being cancelled this year.

I'm planning on riding my 1973 Penton Jackpiner. I just got it running again after it sat in storage in Oregon for several years. The owner, Robert Burton, refused to sell it while he was alive. He passed away over a year ago in his eighties. He rode the bike often in hare scrambles and desert races around the Oregon area in the 1970s and 1980s. His daughters "interviewed" me to buy the bike. It was in rough shape and had a locked up engine. I "won" the bike after promising to get it running again and race it. After a cross country trip, several  parts orders from Al, and one rebuilt engine later, Bobby's bike will ride again this week at Barber.

Anyone else going to Barber?

John, i had to cancel...a minor (non-Covid) health issue. Keep an eye on the weather though...storm moving in it seems...

Richard,

Thanks for the warning! Last time that I checked the weather, it was supposed to be nice. Looks like it might be a mud run now. The Army taught me that I'm waterproof. I'll see if a Jackpiner can swim.

Sorry to hear that you won't make it. I hope that you feel better soon.

John
