Generator mufflers....

If I add another muffler to a generator, will that have any adverse effect on the motor; as in too much back pressure?  I have a generator that I would like to make a bit less loud.  My thought is to add a Honda generator muffler (or similar) after my existing muffler?  Thoughts, other ideas?

I would be afraid of too much bac pressure. Maybe just try to adapt the Honda muffler by itself?  A simple three sided wood structure that has the open side point away from where you are, with some sort of lid on it, will help out a lot also.
  Good luck with it!
