There is a black framed steel tank Berkshire for sale on the Facebook "Penton Motorcycles" group right now. 1st thought is  - why would someone do that?

I have a 68, #V074, and it has a black frame. When I got it I assumed that was somebody's home made idea.

Is there any chance I'm wrong, and SOME bikes did come this way?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Greetings,

I never saw any that were black from the factory. Have you tried to look "under" the black on yours to see if any of the original color is visible ?

Not yet Paul - just assumed the original silver is there. Saw that bike yesterday and started wondering. Worth asking.....
