Does anyone know what year the first MC 125 were sold?
Thank you!

Correction, MC5125 is what I was inquiring about. Thanks again!

I bought a used Penton-badged 1976 125 MC5 in October 1978.  It had a a Lectron carb and I liked it a lot.  Of course, I was coming off a 1971 Honda SL 125 with no mods, so it was a huge step up.  I know that Dirt Bike compared it with a Honda CR 125 and liked the CR better.  Then, Modern Cycle (with Rick Siemen at the helm) had some test riders take timed laps on both, and the MC5 was a lot faster.  The thing I remember was that, at least for my MC5, it didn't need to be screaming to get anywhere.

Thanks Gary and Nick, appreciate the info!

I'm looking around for a vintage 125 (pre75) to rebuild for AHRMA mx.
Thanks again

I built a 73 175 with a 73 Sachs 125 cylinder. Ran pretty good! Almost bolts right on.  They couldnt complain about that! i bet you could get away with a 73 175 with a 76 KTM 125 top end also (or maybe even a whole 76 125 engine).  They couldnt say its not fair to the elsinore! Its still got the same tranny as the 250 and 400! (use the 125 primary gearing and lighter clutch).
