Well, the second half of the AHRMA cross country season is in high gear. We have New Blaine, AR this weekend. Cross country racing Saturday September 25 and Sunday the 26th.

Anyone planning on going?

I went.  Good trail but a bit dusty dur to no rain.  The grass track was decent too but hard to master for me. Low turn out though, too bad.

I wonder if a lot of folks are "banged up" since it it toward the end of the season and can't ride. I have been out for the past 3 months... hopefully be back in the Spring

Pete, I tried to find you. Everyone always said, "Yeah, he was just here." Me and a buddy are coming back to Arkansas on Friday night to camp out and ride dual sport roads. We're going to eat lunch at the Oark General Store on Saturday. Come on by, if you're not busy. I'll buy you a burger.

I was surprised by the low turn-out. The weather was beautiful. The course was dusty, but nothing compared to Diamond Don's.

I had a blast riding the Berkshire in the tight woods sections, not so much on the roots and whoops.

There was no one else in the 100 Sportsman Intermediate class. I talked Bill Ryburn into riding with me on Sunday. That was a lot of fun. A steel tanker and a Berkshire riding through the woods together. I told him that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to have a Penton trail ride. Bill was a little nervous at first. He kept worrying about holding me up. I don't know about Bill, but I had a blast. I followed Bill around the course. The further that we got into the loop, the faster Bill got. By the end, he was scooting along pretty good. Not bad for a guy over 75 years old!

After I finished the lap with Bill, I did one hot lap on the Berkshire. That was some of the best fun that I've ever had riding a motorcycle. I was riding at my own pace for the whole lap with very little traffic. The bike ran great! I'm really liking the Mikuni VM28 set up.

John, I have to keep moving, I owe to many people money to stay in one spot very long. I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. Glad you enjoyed the ride :-)
