February POG meeting coming up soon, Penton Dealer school was 54 years ago!

It is hard to believe that 54 years ago, at the age of 19, I was making plans to attend the Factory Service School For The Penton Sportcycles which was held on February 15 - 16th, of 1971. Penton Dealer School is a story unto itself for a later time.

The February meeting of the Penton Owners Group is coming up in a few days, and the weather is pretty much as it always seemed to be for the trip to Amherst for Dealer School. Thursday February 5th. is the POG meeting date, and as usual, the meeting will commence at 7pm in the Jackpiner Room of the KTM building, located just west of beautiful downtown Amherst, Ohio.

John Penton pretty much ran the Penton Dealer School with the help of Doug Wilford and the cast of characters that helped him run Penton Imports at the time, it was always exciting and interesting to say the least. President Rick and VP Samantha will be leading the POG meeting which usually has it fair share of interesting and exciting moments as well!

No Certificates of Achievement will be handed out at the POG meeting, but President Rick usually brings along some tasty treats for one and all to enjoy. Although John Penton and Doug Wilford are no longer with us, your involvement in the Penton Owners Group and attending POG meetings and events when possible is sure a great way to help to keep the memory of these men and the folks who ran Penton Imports alive and well.
