Is it safe to use common oven cleaning products to clean my Sachs? especially around the exaust flange where there is a thick build up of grime. any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.......

Castrol Super Clean is the stuff. Just don't let it sit too long on aluminum, it will tarnish it badly. It will also take paint off. I use it full stregth for degreasing, diluted 20:1 for general cleaning around the shop and home. The stuff is unbelievable.
Use it like 409, but it's about 20 times stronger.

Oven cleaner gave my Sachs case a green tint.  May have left it on to long.  Be careful.

XL-1 motorcycle wash by Spectro works like magic. Spray it on, hose it off. Makes cast aluminum, plastic, and paint look like new. Will streak polished aluminun if not hosed off right away.
