I need to know the housing length and the cable length for the choke cable for a 72/73 with a stock bing carb on it. I have the componets to make one and would like to get it right the first time instead of my usual trial and error! Dennis D. PS. I really really really need a light switch for my bike. Last part needed to complete my resto.

First: measure an appropriate length for the outer; then: put the appropriate nipple on the carb end and assemble the cable. Then mount it in the carb and run it to the choke lever. At that point, it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out the proper length for the inner cable at the top end.
If that fails, I would be happy to pull my cable off and measure it. You will have to be patient though, I've got a million things on the go!
As for the light switch, keep watching eBay. Ron Keys had one not too long ago.
Good luck.

Taking the cable off of your bike is way to much to ask. Someone on the board has probably got one off of their bike. Maybe someone that has put a Mikuni on. Thanks for the offer though. Dennis D

I need the switch that is pictured in the parts manual. It's an oval looking affair with the dipper switch and a kill button on it. I have some pictures of the one on Mark A's steel tanker and I believe it is the same one that I need. Dennis D
