Hi fellow Poggers,

I was at a motorcycle shop recently looking for a replacement air filter that would fit my 1974 125cc. Everything that would work was at least $25! That's some expensive foam rubber. I left empty-handed . . .

But last night at the local Home Depot I stumbled onto a great economical replacement. The lawnmower section sells a real nice oval shaped element for large Briggs and Stratton engines. They are paper with wire mesh and rubber edges and come with a foam prefilter sock that stretches over the filter. I snapped one up and after bending it a litte here and there it's a pretty good fit! And the best part is it was only $10.! The Briggs and Stratton  part number is 5052. There may be an even better fitting one out there as this one is a little bit big on the O.D. (hence the need to bend and fit) But it looks like it will work good. If anyone else has found a source for realistically priced filters please let us know.

Regards,

Don
