I'm am in the process of revitalizing my '71 Jackpiner.  Can anyone tell me what was the correct Bing carb for the year and model?  Thanks

Larry Perkins

There were no 71 Jackpiners so it is probably a 72.  To my recollection the early 72's had a 30mm AMAL carb.  30mm and 32mm Bing will work and better.

Sorry, it is a '73 that I bought in '72, that era seems to be getting a little fuzzy.  A 30 mm Amal it is. Thanks for your reply.

All right then, I just read up on the models, mine must be a 1972 because it has alloy fenders, leather tank strap, small white decal with model on tank, and black motor.  I looked at the original bill of sale last night ($1,302.00) and it is listed as a 1973.  Pehaps it was a left over? Again with the foggy memory!

What is the serial number on your frame?

both my Jackpiners are 73's and they have Bing carb's and plastic fenders. Also hi breather frames. I'm not positive, but I thought the early 73's had the lowere breather frames[?]
