I finally got around to weighing my bikes the other day. Used the trusty bathroom scales and came up with the following. 73 125 215 lbs,
74 250 240 lbs, 76 MC5 240lbs, 76 400 245lbs, 74 175 235lbs. All bikes except 175 no petrol but all oils. 175 had about 2 litres in the tank so I took off about 5 lbs. MC5 weight surprised me as believed it to be a lot lighter and it always thought it felt lighter. Anybody agree/disagree it was the bathroom scales after all.

Bill,
Earlier this year I weighed my 76 mc5 250 and came up with the weight of 225, ready to ride with the exception of gas, which is a few pounds heavier than I remember it being when I first got it. We use to be very intersested in such things. We all went oh and ahh when stock 125's were under 200 pounds. Did you check your scales? bathroom scales tend to wander on their accuracy from time to time. come to think of it I wonder about mine?  umm  the scales that is.

Thom Green,I own and ride a 76 250 MC5 MX which I bought new.

Bill,
I was fortunate to get the original hang tags and manufacturer's statement of origin among other treats when I bought my 6 Days from an old friend. It shows 198lbs shipping weight from KTM to Penton Imports on Oct 6, 1972.

OK Just went outside and did the bathroom scale thing on my '75 400 : 103 kg which is 227 lb with lubricants, Don Vesco camel tank, about 1/2 gallon gas and some trail dirt.

Amazing, it feels a lot heavier when you've fallen off and have to pick it up. Even more amazing is how light it gets when you're on the ground with the hot exhaust on your leg.
