Mac and I have been talking about a 77 250 GS that is blue like a Jackpiner. It appears to be the original color. Mac thought that it might be a European model. Any ideas as to where this might have come from. I thought all the 77 bikes were Orange, were the bikes sold overseas a different color?

Thom,

The 77 model 250's West of dealers supplied by Penton Central were blue with KTM stickers as were the KTM 250's that went to Europe and other countries.  I think the 400's were white but can't remember for sure.  David probably knows.

Very nice, yes as I remember that is how it looks. It has been several months since I have seen it. I for one have never seen a bike like this before. but then when I bought my 250 I had only seen two before and the Penton name was legendary amoug riders but until this summer I had never seen a Six Day trials and only once maybe the harescrambler. The first Hare scrambler in recent times was Mac's. So you see my experience with the beloved bikes are very limited. I quess that I am saying I had never seen a blue KTM and the only other blue bikes that I knew about were the early Jackpiners. Mac had never seen one either so we summized that it must have come from Europe.  We had never heard of KTM putting out a bike in blue. So is it just the GS models that were blue. and the MC models that were orange? What about in Europe or down under?
Thanks for the response[8D]

Notice the straight leg Cerianni forks on the GS6 frame, any of these ever come to the States?

very nice, thanks It has been quite awhile since I looked at this site and it has alot more pictures than before. So is the standard color for all of the bikes overseas Blue? I had seen a picture of a 76 in red it appeared to be a MC5, did the color change in 77 for all the bikes, or just the Enduro models. Any one know. Like I said I knew they existed in Europe but did not know they were imported to the us that way.
