Are there any Sachs engine rebuilders in the Northwest? Would like to find someone in the Portland area, if possible. Have two motors that need seals and bearings, most likely.

Thanks,
Clay

Clay,

Long time no see, hope all is well. Try Charlie Brown at Superior Sleeve, 800-700-5839. He's got Puchs and Montesas and all sorts in there and have yet to see a vintage bike motor he didn't know about. Even had a Penton/Sachs he wanted to sell awhile back.

Hope to see you around the tracks soon. Jon McLean

Thanks, Jon.

Didn't see you at Woodland, but I have read why in your travels to the reunion. I did call Charlie and he said he could do the bearings for me. I also talked to him about the Penton, and I'll probably get it from him. He said it's a 100cc that someone sold him as a 125.

See you at Woodland on the 6th?

Clay,

These Sachs critters really aren't as scary as legend has it.

They at least come apart easily enough, we'll have to wait another day or two before I can speak to how tough the whole re-assembly thing is.........[:p]

I must confess that I have the luxury of working and learning on someone else's motor before my own hits the bench!

Clay - I'll expect to see you soon whupping-up on those Hodies in the new 100cc VDR class on that Charlie Brown Penton. Maybe see you on the 6th, but the wife just informed me that we have 3 soccer games starting within a half hour of each other on that day, plus a dance recital. I like my 4 kids and all, but at least my bikes don't talk back and throw wrenches in Dad's Fun schedule.  Jon

Clay, I do work on Sachs engines and am in the San Francisco area. I've won two AHRMA northwest regional championships, intermediate classic 125 on engines that I've built. Email me if you're interested. [email protected] is my email. Gavin. p.s. say something about Penton in the subject line, if I don't recognize you I'll delete you.
