OK, I know this is picky, but I was curious as to what brand of chain did most Pentons come with? The KTM powered ones in particular. I'm thinking Renolds or Regina? I know that JP usually chose the best available components. Anybody still got an original chain on their bike today? I gotta buy one for my 75 250 and just might go to something more historially correct. I won't even open the 520 conversion can-o-worms. Thanks, Dan Pagel

Most of the 530s I have had on them were Diamonds-and I do not think that was original. James

BTW a good 520 chain is about 2 lbs lighter than a 530.Not that i have known a 250 or 400 KTM that was down on power. James

7" and 4" travel? Hmm-that makes 11" Hey! I can live with that.

James,

The original chains on the 100's and 125's, were Reynolds. Later on, when we started using the 530 sized sprockets on the 175's and up, we used Regina.

Cool- that amswers the question for you Wildman. Dane was "kind of" involved with them new:DLOL. I guess the Diamond chains I have found makes sense when Bobby Lucas told me about Harley chains some put on. When Bob Brizee was looking for chains the other day-Diamond was what was carried at the Harley dealer.  So...Regina mkaes it original. James

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. Raymond, I must be looking in the wrong DK catalog, I don't even see a listing for non-oring 530 regina chain. 2lbs less weight, thats pretty good, something to consider. Thanks again, Dan
