Wheel lacing too!

I just finished reading the thread on wheel lacing and had a question too. Do anyone know if there is a offset on the wheels for the MC5?
Back in the spring of 77 I was out messing around. I found this chunk of land that looked like it could be fun. I was topped out in 5th gear when I hit a chunk of cement. the front wheel when airborn and then the rear wheel hit throwing it up in the air. Some how I managed to hang on. (I think my angels had to work overtime:D) I slid the bike to a stop and after awe faded. I realized that I had crushed both rims. I ordered new ones. lacing for me is no trouble I use to do it to my stingray wheels with regularity.
Any one have any ideas?

Tom,
I dont know for sure on the later models but here is a way to tell. Get the rim laced in and close. the put it in the forks and measure the distance from each side of the fork legs to the rim. The rim should be center in from both legs.
The change from 32 to 35 mm forks are what created a need for the offset on some models. The hub and spacer tube ( the one that stays with the wheel when you remove it and the wheel bearings ride on) were  the same  least with the first 35 mm forks as those used with the 32mm forks. The 35 mm's are machined at the bottom different from the 32's.  The axle for the 35 mm's is longer.
We had to lace in the offset and machine my front axel to have everthing line up on the front and enough threads for the axel nut, swapping from the stock 32 mm to the 35 mm forks.
 Did that help any?
