is there a difference between 72 and 74 175cc motor my 72 jackpiner seems quicker is there any difference between them besides  black and siler and the side side cover?

The '72 frame is quite a bit lighter and the steering angle is tighter, that could be it. I also have a '72 and a '74.5 and the black engine '72 feels faster, but I dont think it really is.

I wonder if it is like on the 73-74 KTM 250 engines, where the primary gear ratio between the crankshaft drive gear and the clutch basket gear is a sligtly lower gear ratio on the 73, which allows the engine to rev slightly faster, as I have heard the same comments about the 73 250 Harescramblers?
