I have a Jackpiner pipe that needs repair. Basically the first 12" from the cylinder forward is rotted right through. The pipe after that is in very good shape. Are there any pipe fabricators who would consider rebuilding the front section? Anyone have a similar type of job they had done? I'm not hung up on having a stock pipe if one of the fabricators is offering a good repo of the Jackpiner Pipe, I'd be happy with that and scrap the stock pipe.

Chakka, I have 2 JP pipes here with the same problem.  I showed it to my welder, who is superp at making odd ball stuff, and he was baffled with that curve.  I've been making odd ball stuff for years and the front of that pipe... wow, it looks like 2 halves joined...

Hi Raymond,

It definetely is 2 rolled steel halves joined in the middle with a weld. It would be real hard to duplicate that without the original tooling. I wouldn't mind short sections joined (welded) to form that same curve. Many of the aftermarket Penton pipes are made that way. I just hate to chuck it and I don't think there is an aftermarket Jackpiner pipe availible yet.

Chakka, I take the Pogs Prez advice, dont throw any of that dear old Penton stuff away.  I got a bunch of boxes just filled with junk, trahed, destroyed Penton parts.  Except the tires and chains and cables and air....[8D] I get rid of them

Tony, I think part of your reply is incorrect, either the address or the location.

Hi Raymond,

Your right, and I wouldn't throw it away. The back half is still usable, if I can't get it restored that tail end could be usefull to sombody needing a shroud section.

Lew,

You are correct, I gave out the wrong email address.  The gentemans's name is "Frank The Welder" at //[email protected]

He does outstanding work.

I deleted my previous post.

Hi Chakka.    Say Raymond is right save the old stuff. I have a 71 steeltanker had to have the front pipe welded twice now both were done by a pro. Not me for sure . But they can be repaired   Don Howard
