The 72 six day I am restoring did not have the bushings and spring on the rear brake lever. I now have all the pieces, but cannot figure out the attachment points for the spring.
Help me POG!

Patrick,
The "U" hook end of the spring goes on the the brake arm that the rod (that goes to the rear brake).  The other end hooks to the frame.  I will try to take a picture today and send it to you directly.  Don't feel like you are the first one to not figure it out.  I always lay all the parts out and go from that point.

Actually if you look close at this picture you can see the arm and the spring....not a great picture, but I will send you a better one.

Thanks Ron
I took care to photodocument the stages of disasssembly so I did not get caught with the box of extra parts, but as i said, these parts were missing and I could not figure out where to grab the rod and frame.
Thanks,
Patrick

Patrick,
Are you OK now or do you need a picture?

It's real easy just get another 72 Six Day thats complete and use that one as reference. All joking aside I go to that parts book Al sells for the 72 Six Day. That little book has bailed me out on numerous occasions. If you don't have the book and want me to fax you the page email me the fax number you could be reached at. I hope this will help.

Thanks for the offer Rod.

The first thing I did was get the owners manual and the parts catalog from Al, and if I had not I would be even more lost that I am.

I think Mr. Carbaugh has got me covered this time, however if you have a mint '72 Six Day that I can borrow for reference for a year or two or ten, I could work with that.

Thanks,
Patrick
