It seemed so fitting that a POG member would be on the podium at this year's JOHN PENTON GNCC. Finishing in third overall,on his 2005 KTM 250EXC, in the two hour morning race was POG member-Gary Roach. The race was grueling and tough-after a week of rain in Southern Ohio-well, you can imagine...Gary said he was riding in survival- mode. At a GNCC race only the top three overall racers get the honor of riding onto the podium at the finish. In this photo, Gary is being interviewed about his race-he did a great job of thanking John Penton for all he has done and continues to do for the sport!  Gary thanked Jack Penton and his brothers for the years of riding, racing and testing Pentons and KTM's that have helped make race bikes what they are today.

John Penton was on the podium to congratulate Gary on his victory and I am pretty sure that this hand shake meant way more than the plaque he brought home. In case you are wondering who beat Gary, Andy Shea was 2nd overall and Mark Hyde was the Overall Winner-also,both on KTM's !!

As you can tell I was very proud of my husband-and I just thought it was so neat to see the Penton Owners Group represented at this "modern" National Cross Country Event!!

CONGRATS!  If you have never seen GNCC it is 3 hours of WoodsOcross, haul ass, bounce off the trees, splort through the mud racing.  As always Gary proves to be a tough competitor wether on an old one or a new one.  Hats off to you, Gary and Toni, you should be proud.  Two great people and great representatives of POG.
