Although I have three Pentons in the garage,  one of them is broken down into 76 individual pieces (I counted), the second one presently has a 1-piece motor, and looks like it's been living at the bottom of a mine shaft for the last 30 years, and the third's carburetor is at this moment visiting with the Bing folks, out in Kansas.  In short, I don't own a functional bike, and in fact haven't ridden a Penton since my '75 250 Hare Scrambler, back in the day.  Fortunately  for me however, one Mr. Al Buehner visited last weekend, and brought with him two 175 Jackpiners - both runners!  Of them, Al entrusted me to a short ride on the one he has set up for Enduros, and I fell in love all over again.  It was great!  The bike performed every bit as well as I remembered and expected from my favorite brand of bike.  Thanks, Al. Wish I hadn't waited 28 years to experience the magic of a Penton again.

Maybe that will give you the spark to get one of the others going.

Ted, not the only case of Al's devotion to the Penton Marque, consider yourself in very good company! There are many pieces of his example in my shop, very lucky to be in such good hands! Good luck with your projects, and keep us informed........
Thanks for the report

Ted,  don't despair  once you got one built, the magic will be there,  And  it will be yours, (to qoute LT).
You'll never wear them out, but they will wear you out trying [:p]

I know the feeling of looking at a pile of parts, that need welding, and machining and reconditioing and...

Thanks for the encouragement, fellows.  Sometimes it does seem as though project bikes will never be completed.  In fact, I left one of my Pentons intact while I work on the others - so I know what they are supposed to look like!  haha
