If you take off the exhaust flange and put it on the pipe, it goes on quite easily. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

Just look at the exhaust gasket to make sure it is in place when you bolt the manifold back on to the bike. You will know if it is in place when you start it and smoke comes out of that area.
Good luck

Thanks Conrad, but I wish you told me that earlier.  After taking off the exhaust flange and putting it on the pipe, it all went together too easily. As I laid on the floor of the garage to put on the springs for the pipe, half of the exhaust gasket was hanging out! Egads, what a dummy. Since I pinched it I thought it best to order a new one from Al. Oh well, live and learn.
