Is ther any product out there in restoration world that can rejuvenate vynil seat covers and the naugahide airbox covers on Puchs and Zundapps to make them a little more pliable. I have a Penton seat in great shape but the vynil is getting brittle.

It is and I am severly dyslexic. Amazingly I was able to get a masters degree in electrical engineering. [8D]

Desmond, this has got to be the best "one-liner" responses I have ever read on the POG forum. I love humor and satirical comedy, it makes us "just" so important...Wonder what the "Dems are gonna do with our Country" don't know! But, good buddy, I am "ohming now".

Welcome to the club.
Dyslexia is a handicap for sure but it doesn't hold most of us back. I have a IQ of 131 but could barely pass Math class.

But in response to your original question. I don't know of any product to rejuvenate vinyl once it has lost it's pliablity. I know there are products that will help prevent this from happening like ArmorAll. Vinyl is a plastic not leather product. I would be interested if a leather conditioner would really work. I seriously doubt it though.

Desmond, do what Tom said, try a leather conditioner. I've tried it with great success. I bought some upper end conditioner ($20 a jar that I got at one of those home shows) and used it on a tool bag that looked like Moses owned it. After several applications it turned out great. I used the same stuff on an old Penton seat with the original cover that I bought off ebay. It bought it back to lookin' real good.

I do not believe that leather conditioner products will rejuvenate
any plastic material.  It may make it look better for a short period, but that is about all.  

Most thermoplastic materials have a plastizer additive to assist in forming and flexibility.  Over time, the plastizer's are depleted from the molded product and they become stiff and brittle.  Plastics will absorb small quantities of moisture with heat, for short periods, but give it up readily.  Soaking a carb boot in hot water will allow you enough flexibly to use the boot, but do it quick.
