Has anyone ever run a down pipe on a 72 six day. There is one on ebay made by Torque Industries. A little pricey!

Chuck,
I have run down pipes with a lot of success especially with Joe Wright's reed valve 125 Penton.  They get beat up fast and need constant attention if you are racing them.  I have looked at that pipe several times and just can't tell if it would fit a Penton or not???  I have bought pipes before only to find they fit a Tyran, DKW or other Sachs engines bikes.  Nice pipe and he has dropped the price down considerably.  Not much help, but I did at least study the pipe.

I saw the pipe and it looks like it may be for a 71 steel tanker.  I have a low pipe on my 71 and it looks similar to the one on Ebay.  Ted

Ted,
Is yours the same brand and does it have two brackets to mount it?

I have a NOS pipe that I bought at VMD last year that looks to be the exact same pipe, right down to the sticker.  It fits the Steel Tanker, the front mounting tab bolts to the left center stand mounting tab,  the rear pipe mount bolts to the down pipe bracket located below the swingarm on the later models of the Steel Tanker.

Just my observations, hate to see someone buy a pipe have it not fit.

Thanks Paul.  I have seen a similar pipe that a Friend had and it didn't work on a Penton.  Of course I have never bought a pipe that didn't fit[B)].

Ron:  Mine has one rear mount and 4 spring mounts.

Ted,
I guess yours is the one I remember, but at my age it is a wonder that I can remember.  Thanks for the input.
