Looking at a really nice 74 Mint 400 and have heard that the hot tip to making them more tractable is the enduro heavier flywheel. How hard would it be to locate an enduro flywheel for this bike?
Thanks, I'm used to Maico type power, now thats TRACTABLE!

I have one of the 400 flywheels that I got with a couple of bikes. I will take a look and make sure it is in good usuable condition. Mike [email protected]

i have couple of mint 400's and the CRANK flywheels are different. some are heavier than others. on the ignition , a motoplat external flywheel is pretty heavy already. if the bike that you are looking at has an newer pvl ignition with an internal flywheel they are certainly less weight. either way, the bikes make gobs of power. penton racing products could help you with either a new pvl/internal
or and external/ that is an mzb? or something like that. dane would know all this stuff for sure.   chicago jerry

I have put PVLs on my 400s with the added 17oz bolt on weight. I like the power. Wanna drag your Maico????

Thanks guys for all the input. I'll have to quiz the present owner about the ignition some more but I'm thinking it's a stock Motoplat. About your drag racing offer Teddy, I'm more interested in off the corner in 2nd or 3rd gear grunt than drag racing speed although I'm sure a 440 Maico will more than hold it's own until it runs out of gearing and that's way faster than I go on a Vintage MX track anyway.

Don't forget that the cases are different for the heavy crank VS the light crank.;)
