Iceman,

Welcome to the Penton Owner's Group site.

If I understand your question?  You are asking if 71707 is a actual good frame number for a 1974 Six Day.  I would say it is OK.  If you are trying to compare it to the 403 you should not.  As long as it is a higher number than the motorcycle built before you should be OK.  One of my 1974 125 Six day is number 4017018 which was made in January of 1974.  I hope this helps.

Your bike would either be a 100 or 125 1974 model.  the only difference in the USA model was the colors and the 100cc cylinder for the 100 Penton/KTM.

Hello P Ronkainen,
I would like to add to what Ron stated. The 404 72707 frame that you have is good for 404. The list is just Penton's that people have reported that they currently own, not what was manufactured. In other words, no one has reported a frame number to this group between 403 72630 and the 404 72858. You have a 1974 Penton / KTM Six Day that was manufactured in April of 1974. It is a good frame number. This is Good. As more Penton's turn up, the group updates this frame number list with known existing bikes. I hope this helps clear up your little problem.
Welcome to the group and enjoy your Penton.

-Thank you for the reply, gentlemen. OK,this is clear.
-Ron says "difference in USA model was the colors". My bike is blue.
-Broblem 2. A complete list of production years says: Model 1974.Every Penton model now comes with Ceriani 35 mm frontwork. But my bike has 32 mm Ceriani. Is this right size, on this model? Is this same "thing", like numbers?

Iceman,
I htink the only way to be sure is to find a  brochure from the year 1974 for Europe and see if they came with 32mm.  All of the 1974 and 75 Sachs powered Pentons I have owned had 35mm forks.  But remember that some people preferred the smaller forks so they could have changed them out.  I hope this helps.

Also some of the early 1974 bikes may have used small diameter forks.  Some come with different fuel tanks also. KTM used up the remaining parts before going to the new spec parts.
