Anybody know if a allen head bolt set is available for 1972 6-Day side covers? My slot heads are a little chewed up and allen heads would be perfect....especially as often as you remove the clutch side to change the oil.

I used allen screws years back. Where to find them? Do a Google search.
I find that Ace Hardware near me (N. Idaho) carries some.

I always use all new hardware when I go through a bike and this is the best place I have found. Their website is easy to use, they ship fast, and the prices are very good, especially the stainless stuff.

Does anyone know if the original style slotted bolts are available?

I can't say I've seen them anywhere before.

Thanks,
Jerry

Both types of screws are available from "Fastenal", the allens or the cheeseheads.  The cheeseheads have to be sent from germany and are about $2 ea. CIAO

If you give me the amount and length of each type I can ship them to you.

I use ONLY Allenhead screws on ALL my dirtbikes.(Old tradition)
But tell me why you take the clutch cover off to change the oil??
Did you strip the oil drain bolt UNDER the engine??

Speedy,

This info is great to know.  I'm not at the point in the project where I know the bolt lengths, etc. So, as soon as I know, I'll contact you.

Thanks,
Jerry
